Far Harbor: Side Quests and Persuasion
Before you get into the main quests that will tie things off, it's best if you complete all side quests for the residents of Far Harbor. Doing their dirty work will help them to trust you and take you seriously, which is extremely important for getting the ending you want. Finish all side quests before you proceed with The Way Life Should Be or Cleansing the Land.
To pass the persuasion checks in conversation, make sure your Charisma is maxed out on your perk chart. This will help you convince people to do as you please, which can save lives in the main story quests.
Far Harbor: The Way Life Should Be
Tell Far Harbor about Avery: Doing this will put Captain Avery at risk, and the amount of side quests you've done, as well as your persuasion skills, will determine if she's killed. If you go with this option, Allen will lead an assault on Acadia and wipe it out, killing Kasumi. You can participate or just watch it unfold, but you can't stop it.
Confront DiMA: If you decide to convince DiMA to turn himself in, you'll have to pass a high persuasion check. DiMA will travel to Far Harbor to face trial, and if you've done enough side quests and have high enough Charisma, you can prevent the assault on Acadia. DiMA will be killed no matter what. You cannot save him with this option. If the attack on Acadia takes place and Kasumi dies, you'll get the Destroyer of Acadia perk, giving you bonus damage when you're low health.
Confront DiMA: When you confront DiMA, he will ask you to keep his secret. This is the easier option since, and you don't need to convince him it's the right call. If you agree to keep his secret, Kasumi will live, and you will get a quest called Reformation. This is also the route to take if you're trying to avoid any notable NPC deaths.
Far Harbor: Cleansing the Land
Destroy the Nucleus: If you're not a fan of the Children of Atom, this option will wipe them out. You simply need to enter their headquarters and insert the key, then run back out within 30 seconds. Everyone will be shooting at you, but you should be able to get outside and see this faction destroyed. This will earn you the Far Harbor Survivalist perk, giving you a bonus to all damage resistance types.
Bring Down Far Harbor's Defenses: This option will wipe out Far Harbor, which has little to no benefit beyond earning the Crusader of Atom perk. This gives you bonus weapon damage based on how many Rads you have. The more Rads, the more damage.
Destroy Far Harbor and the Nucleus: There isn't much point to this. You won't get a second perk, and DiMA will start to give you the cold shoulder for your actions. Of course, if you went with an option that saw DiMA killed and Acadia destroyed, the island will be yours at this point. All three of the factions will be gone.
Far Harbor: Reformation
This quest is only available if you agree to keep DiMA's secret in The Way Life Should Be. You must also agree to his plan to replace Confessor Tektus with a synth that is more likely to work with the other two factions on the island. In fact, now all three factions will be led by synths. If you're not a fan you should avoid this option.
Players will have to retrieve High Confessor Martin's holotapes and bring them to DiMA, then take them to Tektus and tell him High Confessor Martin is coming back. Players can either kill Tektus or pass a medium (yellow) persuasion check. This will lead gamers to the Protector of Acadia perk, giving you extra damage resistance when you're very low health. You can also score about 3,000 caps by speaking with DiMA and Avery.
